Ron Howard
Born in 1954, Ron Howard began his career in show business as an actor, in films by Minnelli, Lucas, Siegel, and in various television series, the most famous of which was Happy Days, in which he played Richie Cunningham for 7 seasons. While he was still a member of the cast of Happy Days, he began his career as a director. In 1977, he directed his first film for cinema Grand Theft Auto. In the 1980s he preferred fantasy (Splash, Cocoon, Willow). In the 1990s he turned to dramatic films (Backdraft, Far and Away, Apollo 13, Ransom). In 2002, he won the Oscar as Best Director for A Beautiful Mind, which won 3 other Oscars, including Best Film. In the years that followed, he adapted three bestsellers by Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Inferno), and in the meantime turned his interest to stories from a more distant past (the nineteenth century in The Missing and In the Heart of the Sea) or a more recent one (the 1930s in Cinderella Man, the 1970s in Frost/Nixon and Rush), before returning to fantasy with Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Film Synopsis
The documentary Pavarotti relies on original film clips and rare interviews with the singer's family and colleagues to illustrate the life, career and enduring legacy of an artist who was an icon of lyric opera, a giant in music and a man worthy of respect and admiration. Known as "the people's tenor", Luciano Pavarotti exploited his extraordinary gifts to spread the conception of opera as entertainment for everyone, that anyone who loves music can enjoy. Thanks to the crystalline power of his talent, Pavarotti conquered the most important stages of the world, and captured the hearts of audiences everywhere.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT One of Pavarotti’s most ambitious goals was to broaden the reach of his art so that more people would fall in love with opera. So I also personally hope that our documentary might help continue that work.
Pavarotti grew up in a culture where opera was popular entertainment and it spoke to everyone. He always wanted to return opera to those roots in the modern world. His humility is one of the most beautiful and paradoxical things about Luciano. He was extremely proud of his achievements and he understood he had this incredible power, but it was accompanied by a sense of being humbled by the music and the opportunity it gave him to reach people from every walk of life.
