Film Synopsis
William is a young writer deeply dissatisfied with his life. After several failed suicide attempts, he decides to hire Leslie, a professional hitman about to retire, to put him out of his misery. Having signed the contract, William expects to be dead within a week, but overnight his life changes: he finds a publisher for his book, he falls in love with the girl of his dreams, and she with him, and dying is no longer an appealing option. But for Leslie, that contract is ironclad; William has one week to escape the killer he has paid himself.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT I was thinking about the idea of a professional hitman who only kills people who want to die. The idea of a euthanasia clinic run by a killer made me laugh. So the character was amusing, but I was having trouble coming up with his story. Then I decided to throw in another character, someone who was trying desperately to end his days but never managing to find the right way to do it, and decides to entrust someone else with the job. We realized that these two ideas are a perfect combination, since the two characters are looking for the same thing, but from two different vantage points.
I’ve always loved dark comedies and I’m a huge fan of directors like Martin McDonagh and the Coen brothers. Fargo is one of my all-time favorite films. Not only that: I wanted to write something I would find fun to watch. The idea behind Dead in a Week (Or Your Money Back( seemed to be a perfect fit for the category of films that I really love.
