Festa del cinema
Synopsis
A young content creator and his inseparable four-legged companion arrive in the Eternal City after winning the #UncoveredRome artistic residency. With a mix of wonder and uncertainty, their gaze falls upon a city that has eluded definition for millennia. Beyond its monumental façade, an intimate and popular Rome emerges, containing places where archaeology becomes an emotional experience. Reality and fiction intertwine in an existential journey.
COMMENTARY
This innovative docuseries, conceived by the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Rome, seamlessly blends cinematic language with the social media through which the protagonist narrates. It is mysterious, curious and unusual, like the layers of architecture, photography and memory that become intertwined in his wanderings.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Uncovered Rome is a declaration of faith in rites of passage, with the City of Rome as their high priestess. We find ourselves at the chaotic, fertile crossroads of adolescence and young adulthood, when one becomes increasingly aware while grappling with the complexities of the city and existence. I tried to recall that feeling of leaping into the unknown, from where one hopes to glimpse the path to take. It was a perception I found intact in the gaze of @tuttelestrade, a young man with an extraordinary talent for asking questions. He is not a refined seeker of stories, but one who stumbles upon them by chance. His quest is not that of a sage, but rather of a professional mental chatterbox who loves to look deep into himself. Like him, I too took my first steps into an unknown universe, with the same inquisitive persistence in the search for truth.
