Gabriel Laderas
Gabriel Allan Gutierez Laderas (Naples), graduated at ITIS Marie Curie (Milan) as webconsulter, and later began Universita Statale of Milano attending the class of Web Music. Gabriel didn’t feel unconfortable about the choice of his studies, so he set out to change and finally in 2014 graduated at Accademia delle Belle Arti of Brera. During 2012/2013 he was part of Erasmus project so he had the opportunity to live in Istanbul.
In 2014 he started to work for a web agency as a videomaker, editing ans shooting. In the following year, still working for the agency, he started to attend a documentary class at La Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti, giving him the chance to make the film A mio padre (among the winners of MigrArti project).
Alessio Tamborini
Alessio Tamborini (Borgomanero, 1992) lives in Milan, where in 2017 has ended his class of documentary at la Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti that gives him the chance to produce the film A mio padre (among the winners of MigrArti project).
In 2013 and 2015 he attended the school of BAUER, experimenting a theoric study of photography. In April 2016, thanks to the World Friends Association, he started a personal project inside Nairobi’ Slums, trying to reach a personal contact with the community. Touched by this strong experience, he has started to be very close to Africa. His interests for documentary photography leads him to work with the photo agency “Parallelozero”, so he can grab the different aspects of society. At the moment he works for a photo lab developing a particular interest in Still-Life and personal search.

Film Synopsis
Mike is a first generation immigrant, former political activist, former military at the service of the Philippine dictatorial governament, former illegal immigrant. The choises he made by living in Italy influenced his family history and composition. What Gabriel (his son, born in Italy) has lived and still lives is the consequence of his father’s choices. That is why Gabriel has always felt himself as a born and raised as a Philippine in Italy without a proper membership. This has led him in conflict with the family and caused his rejection of its ethnic roots, hence the language, the costumes and everything that could concern the Philippines. As time goes by, ideas and habits change shape, reaching the point where familiar relationships change and develop for the better. Then it becomes possible to appreciate the many sacrifies made by his parents in order to guarantee their chilldren a different life from their own. The roots are slowly rediscovered, along with the awareness of the father-son bond. On the background of the Philippine community in Italy, a brave and intimate documentary: a family’s private life, from the father and son’s personal voices.
