Yuri Ancarani

Born in Ravenna in 1972, Yuri Ancarani is an Italian video artist and filmmaker. His works spring from the fusion of documentary film and contemporary art, the result of an exploration of barely visible areas of everyday life. His works have been showcased at exhibitions and in museums in Italy and all over the world, like the 55th Venice Biennale, the MAXXI Museum of 21st-century Arts in Rome, and the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Ancarani has taken part in numerous festivals, including the 67th and 68th Venice Film Festival, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto and the Cinéma du Réel in Paris. In 21012 he was awarded the Talent Prize at New York’s Cinema Eye Honors.
